How do you face a hostile audience during a presentation?

We all gain so much confidence before presenting our thoughts to a large crowd. We prepare notes, rehearse a couple of times and reconstruct our sentences for a better delivery of presentation.

If this is a first time, you are doing a presentation in front a crowd, this entire thought process is tedious.

Here are some sure-shot ways to go through it and come out with your agenda untampered.

  1. Persuading the audience to agree with your decisions and conclusions for a particular evaluation is crucial for the success of your speech. Give a decision and using evidence say why it is a right way to proceed or not. This will work either way — a negative decision and proving why it is wrong or a positive decision and proving on why it is correct.
  2. People create a first impression about the speaker within 9 seconds per studies. Probably based on what attire they wear, their body language, how they interact, etc. Make sure you get that first impression right.
  3. When there is a disagreement to what you speak, it is good to sideline them with “That was an interesting perspective” or “You certainly have a point and thanks for sharing it”

What are your thoughts on this? If you had any hostile audiences, what did you do to holistically get into your presentation again?

Thanks for stopping by and reading.
